Adventures in Lincoln Land
It's hard to believe that my little man is 9 months old. He looks more and more like a little boy instead of a baby. (I would post a few pictures, but I'm having some technology issues.) He is very busy. He loves to crawl, and he is pretty fast when he wants to be. Lincoln is also pulling up on anything and everything. He has taken a few steps while holding on to the couch. These days he is testing out the "hardness of his head," as he has already taken a few tumbles. I'm sure that is only going to get worse. One of his favorite things to do is brush his teeth. I brush them first, and then he get to brush them. As we were brushing this morning, I noticed that he is working on two more teeth. If we continue at this rate, he may have all his teeth before his first birthday. : ) Lincoln loves to listen to music, and he is a little chatter box at times. Since I got back from my little trip, I have noticed that his "talking" sounds more and more conversational. I wish I knew what he was saying. We are starting to work on sign language. He doesn't do any of the signs yet. I confess that I'm not doing my best at modeling them, but I am trying to get better. I have noticed that when I do a sign that he tends to stop fussing. He seems to at least understand that I am trying to communicate with him. (At least the teacher in me likes to think so.)
He really is a lot of fun right now. When he was first born, I found myself anticipating his next milestone. I'm not in such a hurry anymore. Babies just grow way too fast! Though I would love to have another child one day, I don't know if that is in God's plan. I am doing my best to treasure each and every day.

Little boys are so much fun! Remember with the signing (this is the SLP in me) that it's the consistency that matters, not necessarily that you're doing the sign "right". If pointing his index finger at his knee (okay, I'm trying to make a point :) is drink every time for him, than go with it. And if he's anything like my Nathan, he will continue to test the "hardness" of his head. I know so many people look at me like, why do you let him play so rough, but Nathan's the kid who will bust flat out, stand up, rub the head a little and move on :) Hey, he's loving life, not hurting, and not crying so who am I to stand in the way? God bless you guys!
