The last two entries have been a bit "heavy." Tonight's post will be on the lighter side.
My big goal for this evening was to bake a batch of cookies. The teachers on my team are going to exchange cookies on Thursday. I decided to try a new recipe because I think you should bring something fun and different to a cookie exchange. Who wants a bunch of chocolate chip cookies??? Lincoln and I made Peanut Butter-Toffee Turtle Cookies. They were a bit labor intensive, but they are very pretty. It is basically a peanut butter cookie with chocolate chips, peanuts and toffee bits. Then you melt caramels and spoon that over the cookies. Last you drizzle melted chocolate over the caramel.
Once the baking was completed, Lincoln was playing. I happened to look down at his hand, and I noticed there was something brown on it. At that moment, I also noticed a not so pleasant smell coming from a little boy. Luckily when I went to investigate, I found out it was just chocolate. : ) Thank goodness!!!
