Dear Little Man,

It's hard to believe that you are already two. In some ways, time has flown by so quickly. In other ways, it seems that the past two years have gone on forever. Through it all, you have been a ray of sunshine even on the darkest of days. I love you and feel blessed that God gave me the privilege to be your mom.

You are an active boy! Your energy seems to be boundless. For the most part, you have a happy disposition. You are shy around strangers. It's funny because you used to talk to anyone who would look your way. Now you hang your head down and you won't even make eye contact with them. You are pretty good about obeying mom. Your biggest struggle these days is sharing toys.

You love trains. Pops and Meme bought you a train table for your birthday. You have really enjoyed playing with it. In fact, you have cried every morning this week because you don't want to leave your trains. You also like to play with cars. Lately you have been lining them up one behind the other. When you're not doing that, you are crashing them together. There are lots of crashes when you play cars!!

It's amazing to think about how many words you have learned to say this year! You went from saying only one word at a time to being able to form three or four word sentences. My favorite thing you have learned to say is "love you." So far, I can only get you to say it at night before bed, but they are the sweetest two words I have ever heard! You have also started singing along when I sing "You Are My Sunshine" to you at night. So sweet!

You are a good eater. Mom has tried to introduce you to lots of different foods because I don't want you to be a picky eater. You will eat most meats. You didn't like lunchmeat for the longest time, but you are finally over that. You are very good about eating vegetables. Corn and green beans are probably your favorites. You also like carrots, peas, lima beans, broccoli, tomatoes (these should probably go with the fruit), black beans, and potatoes (if they are fried). Fruit is your favorite thing to eat! Mom always gives you your fruit last because I think that is all that you would eat if you were given a choice.

This year you got to hang out with Meme two days a week. The two of you had lots of fun! You took many trips to the park and the play area at the mall. You also ate many a chicken nugget with Meme while you were out on your adventures. On the days you weren't with Meme, you got to go to Mother's Day Out. You went to "school" three days a week. You enjoyed getting to interact and play with the other kids. Each day the teachers gave mom a summary of your day. Almost every day the report said that you were happy and active.

Happy Birthday (a few days late) Lincoln! I love you and look forward to all the adventures that this year holds!

Love,
Mom

For those of you who made it this far, he is a little video of Lincoln making his cake. It's not very exciting. I know that his Nana and Grandfather would enjoy getting to see and hear him.

Stephanie,
Lincoln is so lucky to have you as a mom. Reading this post about your little guy only shows me (as a reader) what a great job you have done raising him these past two years. You should be proud of his accomplishments and remember he was able to do all of this because of you!! I've read your blog from the beginning and love hearing your updates from time to time. May God bless you and Lincoln.
