Wash Behind Your Ears

I've heard the expression "wash behind your ears" a time or two. With Lincoln's help, I now understand why the expression came about. He can get sooooo dirty! The other day he had dirt smeared across his face. It looked like he had a five o'clock shadow. When I took his shoes off that night, his feet were literally two shades lighter than his legs. A bath has always been a part of his bedtime ritual. Now it is a necessity!!!
