I've written before about the fact that some posts write themselves while others take me days to write. This post falls into the second category. Honestly, I'm not even sure what I want to write. I just know that my heart is heavy.
The other day I was listening to a sermon online. The preacher referenced Isaiah 40:31. "Those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles, they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint." He talked about how there are times in our lives when we feel like we are soaring, there are times when we are running, and there are times in our lives when all we can do is walk. I feel like I've been stuck in the third category for the past twenty-eight months. That may surprise you. People often tell me how strong they think I am, but that strength doesn't come from me. If you could step into my shoes, you would see a girl who is overwhelmed, scared and honestly, quite tired.
I long for the days when I will run. I long for the days when I can soar. I long for the days when life isn't so hard.

I was writing more but decided to just say how much I appreciate your honesty...how I am inspired by your strength and your survival through these months. I am so sorry for the fatigue and endless responsibility that you carry as a single parent and I can't imagine teaching on top of that (and of course leaves no energy for grieving). I will be in prayer for you, asking for God to lift you up and give you a chance to rest and truly breathe.
Sorry Stephanie. I wish it wasn't hard for you, or anyone for that matter. Pain is so hard to experience, and hard to watch others go through and not know what to do on either end. I'm praying.
Wow, that comment just popped up at the same time as mine...you just had the power of two people praying for you at the same time.
Just wanted to let you know we are thinking of you and your family! God Bless you all!

I just want to say that I've been reading your blog for a long time...never commented before....I just don't comment I guess....but here I am ;) you and your little guy are in my thoughts. I hope your heart can feel lightness again. I can't imagine your pain. but, I know the love you feel for your child and the years of love you have ahead of you with him. peace
I am going to be different from everyone else, and say this; there is only one person that can help you run or soar like an eagle, and that is you. I think you are ready to, but all you need to do is pick yourself up off the ground, dust yourself off and say "what do I do to move foward?" From what I have read and heard about you, all you need to do is find someone to lean on for strength. I know it is hard to open up to someone to so you can lean on them for strength.
And you have every right to be angry at God for what has happened. When you study the Book of Job you find out that it is ok to be angry, because it shows you are compassionate in following what God wants you to do. He doesn't want you to follow Him blindly.
I wish I can say it will get better soon, but I can't. I wish there was something I can say or do to make it better, but I can't. But with all that said, keep your head up, things will get better.
