The Cancer Card
The past few blogs have been pretty serious, so I thought I would lighten things up a bit. One thing we have learned is that you can't be sad all the time. Of course there are times when we are upset. For the most part, we try to keep things as "normal" as we possibly can. Last night we went out for Mexican food, and Keith taught me how to play checkers.
Yesterday a salesman came to our door. He started his "pitch" right away, and after he was finished, he asked if we would be interested. It is at this moment that Keith pulled the "cancer card." He told the man that we really couldn't afford the product because he was battling cancer. It was amazing! You all know how persistent salesmen are! This man gave up right away.
I think this is the first time that we have used the "cancer card" since we found out that Keith's cancer was back. We used it several times when he was first diagnosed. It works every time! It probably works even better now since Keith doesn't have any hair. : )
