We're back at home. Lincoln had a good visit with his Meme and Pops. He was fairly well behaved, though his sleep schedule was a bit off. I went down to my parents on Saturday. It was nice to get away for a few days.
While I was driving down, I couldn't help but think about the last time that Keith and I drove to see my parents. It was the Thanksgiving before last. We were discussing baby names all the way down to Houston. We already had a girl name picked out. Each of us took turns saying a boy name that we liked. I mentioned the name Lincoln. Keith asked if he could call him Link for short. (I think a character in Zelda is named Link. I was never really into games, so I could be wrong.) I told him that would be fine, and that is how Lincoln got his name.
It was so weird not to call Keith when I got to my parents' house. We always called to check in when we traveled alone. It makes me so sad to think that I don't have anyone to "check in" with anymore. I really miss talking to Keith. I miss that companionship.
I had a lot of time to think-a little over 10 hours to be exact. I thought a lot about life as I was driving. I thought about what life will be like for Lincoln and me. My plans are to sell the house and move closer to my parents. I'll get a job teaching. Lincoln and I will be fine. Yes, money will be a little tighter than it would have been with Keith around, but we'll make it.
Though we will be fine, I couldn't help but think about the differences between this life and the one I thought we would live. I wanted to have a husband. I wanted to stay home with Lincoln. I wanted to have more children. Although those hopes and dreams have been shattered, they still remain on my heart.
I ask that you pray that God will grant me peace when I worry about the future. Pray that God will grant me wisdom to make good decisions. Pray that God will bring me comfort when I am lonely.

Thanks for sharing your heart! You are never far away in my prayers and thoughts and I'm sending you a big hug right this minute. I am glad you had safe travels and have little Lincoln back with you.
May the God who is not bound by time or space keep you in perfect peace.
"Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor my covenant of peace be removed," says the LORD, who has compassion on you. Isaiah 54:10
Love you!!!
I agree with Jenny. We are all praying for you and asking God to give you more than you could ever ask or imagine. My prayer is that God will bless you ultimately on this earth in every aspect of life. You have been so faithful and still are showing your faith through mourning. God is near. He hears all of your cries and he knows your deepest desires and most outlandish dreams.
Love you,
Rebekah
Dear sweet Stephanie,
My heart aches for you as you try to make sense of this tragic loss. I am praying that God will give you strength and peace as you work through all of the hard decisions you have to make. We love you and are praying for you daily.
