The second support group meeting was easier to attend. Despite my good intentions, I was late again. (Only by a few minutes mind you, but this group starts on time. Two women walked in a few minutes after me, so I didn't feel so bad this week.) We talked about the effects of grief. While we were visiting, the one and only male (other than the leader) said that he had received several e-mails from women. The poor man's wife has only been dead a month, and the women are already swarming. Crazy! One of the women said that when her mother passed away, her father started receiving cards and pictures from various ladies. I have not received any mail or e-mails of the sort. As far as I'm concerned, that is just fine. : )

Seriously though, I have thought about the future. I do hope that there is someone else out there. I'm not saying that I'm ready because I'm not. I can't even imagine moving on at this point. I will tell you that I miss being married. I've thought a bit about the qualities that I would be looking for. I want someone who loves God. I want someone who loves me. I want someone who would love Lincoln like he was his own son. At the same time, I want him to realize that he isn't Lincoln's dad. I want him to understand that Keith and Keith's family will always be a part of our lives. Though my list goes on, I will stop there. If it is God's plan that I remarry, that man has big shoes to fill!

I was talking to a sweet lady from our church about the struggles of being a single parent. I told her that Keith always said that I was "independent to a fault." Her response was that God knew how strong I would need to be in order to endure all of this. I never thought of it from that perspective. God sure is a wise old fellow.

Stephanie,

I was thinking about life as a single parent last night as my husband was working late this week. I can't imagine how tough it must be to be the "one and only" 24/7. And I do hope for you too that there is someone else out there for you. You deserve that. But until that time comes, if it comes I am amazed at how you've made God "enough". You have always, been and continue to be inspiring.

Love
