Keith heard back from the oncologist, and his counts are okay. They could be better, but they aren't so low that he has to take a break from the chemo pills. He is still dealing with the effects of withdrawl and some itching, but other than that he is doing well.
Yesterday Keith wanted to go to Chili's for dinner. That is the first time he has eaten at a restaurant in quite a while. He "built his own burger" and he ate the whole hamburger! The fact that he actually wanted to get out of the house and that he ate so much are signs of how well he is feeling. He really hasn't wanted to get out of the house except for going to church. Granted he has had to get out for things such as doctors appointments or to get blood work done, but those things are not optional.
Keith will have scans done the second week of August. This will allow us to know if his body is responding to the treatment. Due to the fact that he is feeling so much better, we are expecting a good report. Please be in prayer about this. It already weighs heavy on our hearts, and I'm sure the weight will grow as the date for the scans approaches.
Keith's spirits remain high. He truly believes that God will heal him. I know that your cards, emails and comments on the blog have encouraged him greatly.
