It's been a while since I have actually sat down and "put words" on the blog. The past week has been really hard. It is hard to see your best friend sick. It is hard to know that we came close to losing her. Things are looking good for Jordan now. She is going to be able to take the Gleevek. I believe the hope is that this drug will make the two tumors that she still has go away and prevent new tumors from forming.
Though I am so happy for the good news that Jordan and her family received, I would be lying if I said I'm not a little jealous. It's not that I wish bad things for her family. I just wish that both of our stories could end with a happy ending. Instead they are rejoicing, and I am revisiting the pain of loss.
For me, grief comes in waves. I'm sad for a while, and then I'm okay. Then something happens or someone says something, and it comes back again. I will say that as time goes by, the waves come less often and hit with less force.
On a happier note, Lincoln is doing great! He is so much fun these days! He loves to crawl and pull up on things. He loves to get into drawers and cabinets! He is one busy boy, but he will also slow down every once in a while and cuddle. This morning he managed to pull off the top tray to his highchair by pulling on one of his toys that was suctioned to the tray. This boy has some big muscles!

Dear Stephanie,
I totally get it! I know how you are feeling................. Please don't beat your self up for feeling a little jealous. You are a human with human feelings..God made us and he understands our feelings.Jordan also knows how much you truly love her and want only the best for her and Brad. You are a great friend!
I agree with your Dad.....you had a great life with Keith and I know you cherish the moments you spent with him. Look at Lincoln and tell me Keith is gone. No way!
I'm continuing to keep you fast in my prayers.
I love you,
Martha
Stephanie,
I am a 30yo mother of three from Arkansas. Somehow I stumbled across your blog and Jordan's blog from a link at myspace. I have the same hometown as Chad Garner, I think he was a college friend of Keith. The Lord has really been dealing with me the last few days to pray for you and Jordan. I have you both on my mind so much even though we have never met. I just want you to know that I am praying for you and your precious son.

You and Lincoln are still in my prayers, Stephanie. I hope you do not worry about your feelings of jealously. I think it is only normal to feel that way a little bit. You can be happy at the same time. Having them hit so close together, there couldn't help but be mixed emotions. I hope that as time passes that the waves become gentle reminders of Keith that make you smile when you think of him.
btw- how is your house doing?
Stephanie,
I have been reading your blog for a few weeks now. I saw the link on the Chris and Jennifer Ireland blog. I just wanted to let you know that even though I have not even been close to where you are right now, I am sure those feelings are normal. Like Martha said, you are human! Please do not beat yourself up about it!
I can only imagine having to deal with grief and lonliness for the loss of a spouse, but I would imagine Keith live on through Lincoln.
Stay strong and you are in my prayers!
Alaina
Stephanie,
Just want you to know that I'm praying for you and Lincoln. I can't imagine the daily emotional roller coaster that you must be on. I pray that God will comfort you in only ways that He can.
